About the artist
Nippers is a childrenswear company established in Edinburgh in 1987. The owner, Karen Mackay, started designing her own collection of baby clothes as, pregnant with her first child, she couldn’t afford the high end designer ones available and wanted something other than blue or pink which, way back then!, was about all that was on offer.. Sourcing quality fabrics from around the world, her aim was to design and manufacture a collection of childrenswear that was fun, durable and affordable.. What started off as a cottage industry grew over the years to become a major supplier to hundreds of independent retailers throughout the UK and overseas After over 30 years Nippers has now reverted to the cottage industry that it was at the start and offers a small collection direct to the customer, with help from the outworkers who were there at the start and still going strong! We can also manufacture to your own specs, sizes if required We have included a small selection of our best sellers throughout the years but offer more on our own website, www.nippersforkids.com.
